SWISS KRONO GROUP Makes a Splash at DOMOTEX 2014

The SWISS KRONO GROUP, one of the world’s largest producers of laminate flooring, enjoys an excellent reputation in the industry. So it’s no wonder that the corporate group was on hand at the DOMOTEX floor coverings trade fair in Hanover to showcase its new laminate floor collections on a stand spanning about 550 square metres. It integrated a Villeroy & Boch exhibit which attracted great attention.
World Premier: Flooring Line from Villeroy & Boch
Visitors strolling past the stand stopped in their tracks and gaped: What, Villeroy & Boch? At a flooring fair? Their questions could be read off their faces. The exhibit was staffed by employees of the SWISS KRONO GROUP, who were glad to explain that we were presenting the first Villeroy & Boch Flooring Line, made of high-quality laminate and produced at our plants in Germany, Switzerland, Switzerland, Russia and Poland. Visitors to this year’s DOMOTEX were the first to lay eyes on the four collections, which comprise a total of 22 decors. “The response was extremely positive”, says Max von Tippelskirch, CMO of the SWISS KRONO GROUP. “We’re very happy that the collections have been so well-accepted. The idea of extending Villeroy & Boch’s living worlds concept with an up-market flooring line is obviously prompting great interest in the market.”
To bridge the gap to Villery & Boch’s well-known “tableware” theme, the stand concept included display cooking. Three times a day, Martin Wrathal prepared tasty treats for our visitors while everyone watched. Both we and our guests were delighted with his creations, which included gnocchi with boletus mushrooms, scampi in tempura and tender venison sirloin steaks.
The evening before the first day of the fair, about 240 invited guests from different countries converged on the Garden Room of the New City Hall in Hanover to appropriately celebrate the market launch of the Villeroy & Boch Flooring Line. Selected decors of the Flooring Line were displayed in specially assembled living worlds. Max von Tippelskirch, the CMO of the SWISS KRONO GROUP, and Michael Magenreuter, the Head of Corporate Business Development at Villeroy & Boch, warmly welcomed the guests with short speeches. A flying buffet, lounge music and indoor fireworks ensured a relaxed mood throughout the evening. Multiple performances by two virtuoso musicians of the Munich AllStars, Natalie Marchenko on sax and Mary Ann on violin, were enthusiastically applauded. They played an uplifting mixture of classical, pop, dance and soul hits ranging from Vivaldi to David Guetta.
Fair Highlights: New Products from the SWISS KRONO GROUP
KRONOPOL, our Polish subsidiary, attracted attention with its Aurum collection, which consists of five laminate flooring families: Sound, Aroma, Vision, Sensual and Taste. Our Swiss subsidiary, KRONOSWISS, exhibited a new, improved version of its Grand Selection. Attractive nutwood decors complement the popular oak decors. KRONOTEX, based in Heiligengrabe, Germany, showed off its 2014 collection, which boasts new oak decors as well as an interpretation of mountain spruce, naturally with a stunning nature-identical structure. Detailed information is available at www.kronotex.com.
The five new collections of the MY FLOOR brand were exhibited in a separate area. This “Top Secret” presentation took place on the stand’s upper level and included the Lodge, Cottage, Chalet, Villa and Residence collections.
