07. June 2017 | Presentation of OSB Products and Laminate Flooring Collections in Australia
Over 300 firms spent three days presenting their latest new products at DesignBUILD 2017 in Sydney, Australia. SWISS KRONO from Heiligengrabe, Germany had travelled farther than most of the exhibitors to show off its OSB and laminate flooring products.
This year, DesignBUILD took place in the recently inaugurated International Convention Centre (ICC) in Sydney. Located close to Darling Harbour, this magnificent building is a real eye-catcher – and an ideal venue for Australia’s recurring trade fair for architecture, building and design.
SWISS KRONO teamed up with its local distributors, Simmonds Lumber Pty. Ltd. (OSB) and Gottfrey Hurst (laminate flooring) to acquaint attendees with its OSB portfolio and the KRONOTEX laminate flooring collection. SimBoard®, an OSB product that is specially manufactured for the Australian market, attracted especially great attention. It is also available in an anti-termite version tailored to meet demand down under. SWISS KRONO OSB/3 bright from Hungary had already been displayed in that country at DesignBUILD 2016. At that time the new Hungarian plant was still under construction and full-scale production hadn’t begun yet. Now that this extra-bright product is being manufactured in large volumes, it is conquering one market after another. The board’s attractive surfaces make it highly suited for decorative purposes. It is also characterised by extremely low emissions, which lets it be used for critical applications such as food packaging etc.
The feedback received from visitors was consistently positive. “We are working with Simmonds Lumber to develop an attractive market here,” says Uwe Jöst, Managing Director of SWISS KRONO Germany.
In addition to these innovative OSB products, SWISS KRONO also showcased the laminate flooring collections that are produced in Heiligengrabe: the KRONOTEX FLOORING COLLECTION as well as the My Floor and rooms collections and the Villeroy & Boch FLOORING LINE. Their authentic natural wood looks with seductive embossed-in-register and used look surfaces exerted a magnetic attraction on fair attendees, who flocked to admire the laminate panels at the SWISS KRONO stand.
“We’re very pleased with our success in impressing Australian visitors to DesignBUILD with our OSB products and laminate flooring collections,” says Jöst. “For several years in a row, our appearances at this Australian trade fair have been consistently marked by interesting talks and promising leads, and we are looking forward to continuing them in future.”
